Wilson Museum at the Southern Vermont Arts Center’s “Many Americas: Art Meets History” Exhibit
Wilson Museum’s “Many Americas: Art Meets History” exhibit opened in mid-August & I’m so honored to have my artwork included. Six paintings from my “Fear of a Black Planet” collection are featured in the exhibit. This series is very personal. Through art I’m able to create experiences that captivate the senses, connect people with my culture, and inspire thoughtful dialogue.
“Many Americas” makes me think about my experiences here as a Black man, the obstacles I face daily, and the fact that this country was never created for me. It’s even apparent in our children’s entertainment programming. I think there are many different versions of this country that depend on the color of your skin, the depth of your wallet, and a number of other items that separate us.
Huge Thank you to Ric Kasini & Wilson Museum for inviting me to take part in such a powerful exhibition! The show is open until November 27th, 2022. If you’re in Vermont, I highly recommend experiencing this for yourself!
