Last week was a milestone I’ll never forget. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Hip Hop LEGENDS Common, The Roots, and one of my favorite singers Bilal performed “The Light”—with my J Dilla portrait featured on the main screen behind them.

This piece has always held special meaning for me. A year ago, I painted the original portrait live on stage—first at the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival, and again at DillaFest at the Ford in Los Angeles. To see it celebrated now on national television feels like the ultimate full-circle moment.

I’m humbled and grateful for the love, inspiration, and support that continue to surround my journey.
